Continuum Educational Consulting

support across neurodivergence, disability, and education

Meet the Founder

Laura Barringer, M.S.Ed., CAS, is the founder of Continuum Educational Consulting, a practice focused on school placement strategy, special education advocacy, and neurodiversity-affirming coaching.

She began her career as a special education teacher and IEP coordinator in New York City public schools and later served in academic leadership and Head of School roles in Seattle. Her experience spans classroom instruction, program design, regulatory compliance, governance, and collaboration with clinicians and attorneys.

Laura holds a Master of Science in Special Education and is a Certified Autism Specialist through IBCCES. She is a member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association and is completing Board Certification in Advocacy in Special Education (BCASE) through the National Association of Special Education Teachers.

Her work integrates institutional fluency with lived experience as an ADHDer. She approaches educational decision-making with clarity, precision, and a commitment to environments that respect neurological difference.

Based in Seattle, she works with clients nationally.

If you are facing a consequential decision or trying to build something more sustainable, you do not have to navigate it alone. When you are ready, we invite you to schedule an inquiry call so we can begin the conversation.

How Continuum Educational Consulting works

Step 1: Schedule an Inquiry Call

My process begins with a complimentary 15-minute inquiry call.

This is a low-risk, no-obligation conversation to understand the situation at a high level and clarify what kind of support may be needed. It allows space to briefly discuss context, current concerns, and what outcomes are being sought.

The purpose of this call is fit, not strategy. It helps determine whether I am the appropriate person to assist and whether moving forward makes sense.

If it does, we schedule a Strategy Consultation.

Step 2: Strategy Consultation

The Strategy Consultation is a one-hour working session.

Prior to the session, relevant documentation such as evaluations, IEPs, reports, or school information may be shared. During our time together, we clarify goals, identify key considerations, and outline specific recommendations and next steps.

Some engagements conclude after this session with a clear plan in place. Others move into more sustained work depending on the scope and complexity of the situation.

Step 3: Defined Engagement

If ongoing support is appropriate, we establish a clearly defined scope, timeline, and fee structure before beginning.

Engagements may include advocacy preparation, IEP meeting participation, school research and analysis, site visits, document review, executive functioning or neurodiversity coaching, or longer-term strategic guidance. In some cases, families choose a defined coaching package based on identified goals.

The structure is intentional. Clarity at the outset ensures that the work remains focused, efficient, and aligned with priorities.
