Navigating special education can feel overwhelming, especially when decisions carry long-term consequences. Evaluation reports are dense. IEP meetings move quickly. Recommendations are presented as final when they may not be. Families are expected to interpret complex language while advocating for their child in real time.

Special education advocacy provides structured, informed support during those moments.

I work with families to clarify what their child actually needs to access learning, understand their legal rights, and ensure educational plans are both appropriate and enforceable. My role is not to escalate conflict. It is to strengthen clarity, preparation, and strategic communication so that decisions are grounded in both data and law.

Because I have served as a Head of School and special education leader, I understand how educational decisions are made internally. I know where flexibility exists, where constraints are real, and where critical details are often overlooked. I bring that insight to the table so families are not navigating the system alone.

Advocacy Support May Include

  • Reviewing evaluations, eligibility determinations, and IEPs

  • Preparing for IEP or eligibility meetings

  • Attending meetings as an advocate

  • Clarifying placement recommendations

  • Strengthening written communication with school teams

  • Developing strategic next steps when plans are not implemented

Advocacy is collaborative and informed. My goal is a legally sound, educationally meaningful plan that supports long-term growth.

Families leave with:

  • Clear next steps

  • A stronger understanding of their child’s rights

  • Increased confidence in communication

  • A written strategy for moving forward

  • Reduced uncertainty about available options

Special education law exists to protect access. Effective advocacy ensures that protection translates into practice.

Begin with an Inquiry Call

Advocacy support begins with a 20-minute inquiry call to assess fit and urgency. From there, we determine whether a strategy consultation or ongoing support is appropriate.
